VIP-Polymers - The world's largest manufacturer of Tyton® Gaskets
VIP-Polymers mould dual hardness Tyton® gaskets for Ductile Iron pipe in sizes from DN80 to DN2000.
The Tyton® joint is a standard p ush-fit, flexible joint for water pipelines offering a high performance joint with a number of benefits;
• Quick and easy to install.
• Capable of angular deflection and longitudinal withdrawal without loss of performance.
Dual hardness gaskets in sizes greater than 2000mm are manufactured by a moulding and joining procedure.
VIP-Polymers have also developed and patented its own design of seal for push-fit flexible joints for iron pipe known as Viptyte™. This is a specially profiled seal of single hardness rubber and is designed to be incorporated into the same socket design as used for the Tyton® gaskets.

Anchored Push-Fit Flexible Joints:
These are self-anchored joints which eliminate the need for thrust blocks at changes in direction, making them particularly suitable for difficult or unsuitable ground conditions such as soft ground or subsidence-prone areas; where space is limited; steep inclines; under rivers and above ground pipelines.
The gasket used in this joint system is a locked-in gasket which is a Tyton® seal incorporating metal teeth which lock into the body of the pipe. Tyton® Sit seals can accommodate angular deflection and longitudinal withdrawal without loss of performance.

VIP-Polymers also manufactures and supplies gaskets to other iron pipe joint configurations including mechanical flexible joints, anchored mechanical flexible joints and flange joints.

Mechanical Flexible Joints:
Designed primarily for the gas market, these seals incorporate a specially formulated nylon tip, while the base of the seal has a bonded backing tape to create an integral seal. For water applications, an all-rubber seal can be used. These rings are available in sizes of up to 1600mm.

VIPtyte™ Iron Pipe Seals:
The Viptyte™ is a patented gasket designed for application in the same joint design uses a standard Tyton® gasket. The design of the seal acts as a compression seal and also employs a lip seal to provide a more secure sealing force as the internal pressure within the pipe increases. This unique seal design can be manufactured in either single or dual hardness as per the current Tyton® seal design.
